Mushroom Marcia

I was walking threw the woods and I came upon this red polka dot mushroom and it had LEGS!!!

She said her name was Marcia!! And that she lives enchanted woodland forest where all mushrooms have legs.

I sculpted Marcia's mushroom top and stem/bloomers with spun cotton.

Spun Cotton technique:(originating in 19th-century Germany) where thin layers of cotton fibers are wrapped tightly around a wire or shaped form and coated with a starch or glue mixture.

Mushroom is painted and dusted with Grimmix to give it an aged look.

Her legs are made from vintage porcelain doll legs. They are dusted with the Grimmix.

She has a tiny ankle bracelet that I made with crystal beads.

Marcia's legs are attached to a mossy wood base that is accented with a tiny frog, mushroom and vintage flowers.

Size: about 8 inches long from top of mushroom to feet.
