Betsy Ross: Betsy lost two husbands to the Revolutionary War. Her 1st love John Ross and the 2nd Joseph Ashburn a sea captain. But she carried on... and managed to run her own upholstery business alone and she continued operating it for several decades after the war.
Betsy was credited by her relatives in 1870 with making the first American flag, and known as the Betsy Ross flag.

I made Betsy's auburn red hair ringlets and tied it into a pony tail. I made her a paper hat and added cockade made of vintage ribbon and vintage metallic bullion star. Hat is pinned to her head and can be removed.
Underneath her dress she is wearing lace trimmed pantalets. She has red stripe legs and her shoes are black Mary Janes. Betsy is holding the flag she became famous for.
